Tiran Arazi
The son of Michal and Yosef. He was born in the Six Day War, on the 17th of Tishrei 5729 (17.10.1968), at the Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Hadera. A brother to Erez, Golan, Kfir and Yamit. His parents named him after the Straits of Tiran.
Tiran grew up in the Beit Eliezer neighborhood, where he began his elementary studies at the Kaplan School. When he was eight years old, the family moved to Heftziba and Tiran continued his studies at the Nitzanim elementary school. “As the principal of the school, I met you at recesses, in games, in the company of your friend, in classes and social activities, and then you could understand the demands of society and fill them in the most sociable way. I remember your black eyes watching me while listening to your own conversation, and looking down at you in a reprimand. “Your friends appreciated your kindness and asked for your friendship, and when they sometimes needed honesty, you were always there, ready to stand by them.”
The teacher, Yitzhak, tells about Tiran’s diligence and loyalty to his friends: “At school – diligent and dedicated to tasks, by his teachers – at work – a diligent and skilled worker, according to his managers. True, at home – a friend and brother to everyone – that was Tiran, modest and timid, did not stand out in special tricks, loved by his friends. his opinion during the dispute is accepted by everyone. you always found him in his free time among the flower beds with a book, and even during vacations he would appear to water the flowers. It is Tiran who led the children of the class every free hour and every break your energetic spirit, and organizes the fruitful games for his class and for all the age groups in the school. “
Tiran did his high school studies in the electricity track at the Amal 1 school. His teachers remember him as a diligent and quiet student who behaved like a model and had a way of life that he absorbed in his warm and supportive home. Tiran showed great interest in the mechanics and made particularly notable achievements.
Tiran was a member of the scout movement and an outstanding athlete, who participated in krav maga and soccer.
In February 1987, he joined the IDF and served in the paratroopers under Kochavi, Tiran received a certificate of exemplary behavior, according to his commander, one of the pillars of the department.
After his discharge from the IDF, Tiran worked in a packing house for flowers and then joined the police and served two years in the Taibe police station.
In 1991 he married Ayelet, and their daughter Mor was born a year later. Six years later their son Ron was born. The children and his wife filled Tiran’s whole world. He educated his children to love the land. His wife tells that he was a very calm man. “He did not waste energy on people who angered him, and just did not approach them, he taught me to be like him, Tiran was a hero, and he was not afraid of anything, I loved his kindness, he helped people, he was a good friend, and a good father. and he always found the time to help the children with homework, I did the housework, and he did everything possible to have a warm and perfect home. “
Tiran was a special person, endowed with a gentle soul, knew how to give, love and respect, loved others and family, and was loved by all.
He also continued his reserve service in this way and acquired many friends, some of whom were also closely connected to the service. His friend Eitan especially notes his good heart and honest character.
Tiran was drafted into reserve duty for Operation Defensive Shield. The commander of his reserve service, Ze’ev, thanks him for the feeling of the house he managed to give him when he arrived. In the fighting in Jenin, Tiran made sure to stay close to the company commander, who was also killed, and to be constantly involved and updated in everything that happened. Tiran fell in battle on Holocaust Day, the 27th of Nisan 5762 (9.4.2002). Tiran entered the warriors’ head into an alley and was the first to be shot and killed. His commander, Oded, who did not know that Tiran was killed, jumped on him to protect him with his body, and was shot in the back. Twelve more soldiers fell in this battle. At thirty-three, Tiran was buried. surrounded by his wife, daughter, son, parents, three brothers and a sister. Tiran was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Hadera. After his death he was promoted to sergeant major.
The principal of the school where Tiran’s mother works describes him as the salt of the earth.
His cousin, Vered, eulogized him: “You have raised a flower, your height is like a vine, and your image leaves warmth and love / in your body Tiran, you have captured the enemy / for us, life, which you loved.”
“He is a family man, a beautiful man of the Land of Israel, and when everyone went to clubs and pubs, he preferred to go on trips in Israel with his wife and children,” Orna told.
The municipality of Hadera has established a club named after Tiran, where enrichment classes will be provided for children from Givat Olga. At the Hanukkah ceremony, everyone wore shirts that read “Love you Tiran”.
